Meeting Minutes: October 10, 2001 8:00PM
Meeting called to order by Tom Rougeaux
George Zettler led the Pledge of Allegiance.
BUSINESS:
The Manhattan Beach Fair again proved to be a successful fund raising event for the club. Funnel Cake Sales grossed $7,353.00 with a net of $6,367.88 Many thanks to everyone who helped set up, tear down and worked the fair. SPECIAL thanks to Chairman Bob Almeida for all his hard work and Coy Chandler's emergency repair service call.
Red Jung amazed and amused the membership with fascinating mathematical statistics concerning club members CLUB SHIRT ordering habits. If You haven't ordered your Club Shirt yet, please give Red a call at (310) 375-1084.
Tom Rougeaux reported that facility lease negotiations are favorably progressing and should be finalized by our next meeting.
Geoff Graue reminded all that this years Christmas Party promises to be better than ever with the Morris O' Kelly Jazz Band providing us with live entertainment. Mark your calendars in advance for Wednesday, December 13, 2000.
The Fall Golf outing was attended by 10 members/spouses with a good time had by all. Congratulations go to Ray Dracoules who won the tournament. Thanks go to Don Marousek and George Zettler for arranging this outing. The Spring Golf outing will be around April 1st of 2002 with details to follow.
Member Tom Peffer who is also President of the Torrance Skate Association extended a special invitation to all Club Members, their families and friends to attend the up coming TSA Benefit for New York City Firefighter's Families (Flyer can be found by clicking this link). Please do your best to support this meaningful and worthy cause Sunday, October 28, 2001 from 12 noon 'til 4:00 PM at the Wilson Park Baseball Facility.
Allen Watt advised that the Philanthropic Committee will be meeting October 17, 2001 with meeting results to follow.
Again, per Lee Gustafson, please help make the upcoming Steak Dinner Membership Night Meeting a success by attending and please bring a guest!
