Meeting Minutes
September 13, 2000 8:00PM
Meeting called to order (such as it is) at 8:10pm by Chris
Collignon.
Dick Rector led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Business:
Jon Stott discussed the upcoming Manhattan Beach Fair. A sign up
sheet was circulated.
Don Marousek reviewed the next golf outing (Nov. 8-10) in Warner
Springs. If you would like to participate and have not sent a
deposit check yet, send it to Don, payable to:
Warner Springs Ranch (Min. $100).
Jeff Wells asked for volunteers to man BBQs at the Riviera
School Fair, Saturday 10/28 with shifts anywhere from 10:00am to
5:00pm. Contact Jeff if you would like to sign up (310/373-9510).
Chris Collignon requested volunteers for Chairman of the as yet
un-assigned events:
Membership Night (coming up soon!), Redondo Beach Fair/Frontier
Days, and The Pancake Breakfast. Contact Chris if you would like
to step up for any of these events.
Dave Sargent read thank you notes from two of the 1999/2000
scholarship winners (Benjamin Graham-UCSD and Blake Landis-UCSB),
and a note from the 1999/2000 Socrates Winner, Leigh Williams.
The new Board members were unanimously approved: Red Jung, John
Barrington, and Lee Gustafson, and the proposed operating budget
was also approved.
Paul Perez asked for interest in group outings to either the
Huntington Library or the Wildlife Animal Preserve (near
Castaic). Let him know which may interest you and he will see
what can be arranged.
Don Young reported on last years Pancake Breakfast. A few groups
have yet to receive their share of the sales, owing to the
unavailability of their organizers. The checks are made out and
will be delivered as soon as the contacts can be located.
Keith Musick reported that the Riviera Little (District 27 Champs
for 2000) received $9000 from the City of Torrance for netting
and bleachers, as well as assurances that the City will work on
the park grounds.
Meeting was adjourned at or about 8:45.

Ed McClure led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Business:
Jon Stott discussed the upcoming Manhattan Beach Fair. Everything
is on track.
Chris Collignon asked for volunteers to man BBQs at the
Riviera School Fair, Saturday 10/28 with shifts anywhere from
10:00am to 5:00pm. Contact Jeff if you would like to sign up
(310/373-9510).
Geoff Graue announced the Christmas dinner will be at Hess Park
in RPV on Thursday 12/14. After the club budgeted contribution,
dinners will be $35.00 per person. We will need to set up and
tear down some of the decorations so let Geoff know if you can
help.
Chris Collignon announced the Chairman of some events: Membership
Night Robin Sawyer, Redondo Beach Fair/Frontier Days
Al Ortiz (needs a Co-Chair), and The Pancake Breakfast
Steve Fernandez (needs a Co-Chair).
Don Marousek reviewed the next golf outing (Nov. 8-10) in Warner
Springs.
Bob Gavola gave the thanks of Cub Scout Pack 718 for the clubs
support.
Meeting was adjourned at or about 8:25.
